Our ongoing veterinary trial in the management of canine mammary gland tumour in geriatric dogs has been featured in Lianhe Zaobao. Old aged dogs often have limited cancer treatment options as they are unable to undergo major surgical resection due to lowered physiological reserved. As such, often times are put down if tumour growth has reached a size which impedes their quality of life. We ran our wireless light implantable to deliver on-demand tetherless photodynamic therapy (PDT) for localized tumour management at long term on these old aged dogs. We have demonstrated efficacy and safety in the simple procedure where dogs daily routine are not effected as well. This work was carried our in partnership with Singaporean and Malaysian vets.
